Communities living in prosperity in a healthy environment, and under sustained development
 

To enhance the capability of community organizations to implement programs in health agriculture, the environment and poverty alleviation, and thus improve their welfare, health status, and standard of living, and through this effort ensure a sustainable system of community development. 


The main objective of CCBI is to provide communities with knowledge, skills and resources to enable them to develop, and to improve their standard of living by having better health, increased income, enhanced social status, and a cleaner environment through sustainable capacity building projects. CCBI provides training to CBO’s including women groups, faith based organizations, youth groups, cooperatives, and societies, in the following areas::

* Information Education and Communication (IEC) for advocacy on HIV/AIDS stigma reduction, support for mother to child HIV/AIDS prevention, Adolescent health reproductive health services;

* Reproductive health and gender issues

* Baseline surveys and dissemination and utilization of research results in health, agriculture and science and environment.

* STI/HIV/AIDS and home based care for people with AIDS

* Counseling of people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS

* Family planning clinical skills, contraceptive technology update, and community based distribution programs (CBD) and management.

* Establishment and strengthening and implementation of referral system

* Safe Motherhood Initiative and Child Survival

* Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) project design; monitoring and evaluation; and training, with the overall objective of poverty eradication.

* Evaluation of Knowledge, Attitude and Practices (KAP) of rural communities;

* Cultural issues in health, agriculture and the environment

* Importance of clean environment and proper waste disposal

* Participatory methodology on effective natural resources management

* Designing and preparation of projects, implementation, monitoring
