DONORS FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS
CCBI
has received funds for community-support
projects especially for community development
programmes and orphans and vulnerable children.
» Family
Care Foundation (FCF) provided funds
for a Participatory Rural Appraisal for
the Kakelo Based Integrated Support Project
in Rachuonyo District, western Kenya. Through
the PRA, the CBO constructed their
Problem Tree to identify the root causes
of community problems, the River of Life
to trace the historical evolution and development
in the area in terms of social cultural,
economic, environmental and political factors,
identified their needs and priorities and
came up with a plan of action for the CBO
Currently
KBISP is one of the groups collaborating
with CCBI in implementing their community
development activities, especially in support
of PLWHA, income generation activities,
and reducing the transmission of HIV/AIDS
among the youth through behaviour change.
As a result of the PRA, the CBO identified
poultry as an income generation project.
Through support from CCBI, the CBO
is currently implementing a poultry project
with the aim of enhancing the income especially
of PLWHA in the area, and improving their
nutritional condition.

Power
of Love Foundation, through the Director,
Dr Suresh Subramanian, provided CCBI with
financial support for its OVC programme.
Dr. Subramanian paid school fees for
HIV/AIDS orphans in primary and secondary
schools in Sare, Migori District western
Kenya.
